Singapore, 12 August , 2002 - ThinSoft (Holdings) Inc (the 'Group'; Stock Code: 8096) today announced the release of its latest product WinConnect Z.

WinConnect Z, released by the Group's wholly owned subsidiary ThinSoft (USA) Inc. ('ThinSoft'), provides the first RDP (Remote Desktop Protocol) client port for the Sharp Zaurus SL-5500 (the 'Zaurus').

WinConnect Z enables the Linux-based Zaurus PDA to access Windows applications. It does this by connecting to a Windows Server or through XP Pro and establishing a remote connection.

WinConnect Z is a specialized port of WinConnect, ThinSoft's Linux 5.1 RDP client that was released early this year.

Sharp has developed and is now marketing the Zaurus; an innovative, powerful handheld device that offers professional consumers and corporate users a next generation mobile device to fulfil business and personal needs.

ThinSoft President and Executive Director Bernard Ngiam said: "ThinSoft continually strives to enrich the software product spectrum to facilitate a multi-operating systems environment.

"WinConnect Z makes the Zaurus more attractive for corporate PDA users. It allows remote access to company servers and desktops.

"Our WinConnect products enhance the value and uses of Linux-based PDAs, web tablets and information appliances."

ThinSoft will also be partnering with Handango, the world's leading publisher of mobile software. Handango will make WinConnect Z available for purchase through its web site at www.handango.com.

Other prominent online resellers will be added in the near future. Selected Fortune 500 companies that are currently beta testing WinConnect Z, prior to its release, report very encouraging performance and reliability results.
